How To Reset Your Project Zomboid Server

Learn how to totally reset your Project Zomboid dedicated server.

Resetting your server performs a full reinstall, wiping all files including configuration, saves, and mods. This gives you a completely clean slate. Use this as a last resort when other troubleshooting steps have not resolved your issue.

⚠️ Warning: This will permanently delete all server data including your world save, configuration files, and installed mods. This action cannot be undone. If you only need to reset the world map, use the Reset World guide instead.

Resetting Your Server

Stop Your Server

Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and stop your server.

Delete All Files

In the sidebar, go to Files and delete all folders and files. The file browser should be completely empty when you are done.

Reinstall the Server

Go to Dashboard and click Reinstall Server. Wait for the installation to finish.

Reconfigure and Start

Once the reinstall is complete, set up your server settings through Startup and start your server.

💡 Tip: Before resetting, try creating a backup through the Backups page so you can restore your data if needed. If you keep running into issues that require a reset, join our Discord and we will help you diagnose the root cause.
