How To Reset The Admin Password On Your Satisfactory Server

If you've forgotten your admin password or need to reset the server settings back to their defaults, you can do so by deleting the server settings file. This will clear the admin password and all in-game server settings, allowing you to reconfigure everything from scratch.

Resetting Your Admin Password

Stop Your Server

Open Files

In the sidebar, go to Files.

Navigate to the Settings Folder

Browse to the following path:

.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames

Delete the Server Settings File

Find and delete the file named ServerSettings.xxxx.sav (where xxxx is a unique identifier).

Start Your Server

Go to Console and Start your server. The next time you connect via the in-game Server Manager, you'll be prompted to claim the server and set a new admin password.

📝 Note: Make sure you're entering the .config folder at the root of your server's file system. Satisfactory dedicated servers store their files in a different location than local game clients.

⚠️ Warning: Deleting the server settings file resets all in-game server settings (not just the admin password). You'll need to reconfigure settings like auto pause, player passwords, and session name after the reset.
