Troubleshooting Your Satisfactory Server

Solutions for common Satisfactory dedicated server issues.

Here are solutions for the most common Satisfactory dedicated server issues. If your problem isn't listed here, join our Discord for further assistance.

"No EncryptionToken specified, disconnecting"

This error occurs when you try to join the server from the Join Game menu. Satisfactory dedicated servers require you to connect through the Server Manager instead.

Fix: From the main menu, open Server Manager, add your server by IP address, and connect from there. See Connect to Your Server for the full steps.

Server Crashing

Server crashes can have several causes. Here are the most common ones and how to address them.

Out Of Memory

The larger your factory grows and the more players you have connected, the more RAM your server needs. To check if memory is the issue:

  • Go to Activity in the sidebar to review crash logs
  • If the log reports OutOfMemory True, your server is exceeding its available RAM

If your server is frequently running out of memory, you'll need to upgrade to a plan with more RAM.

💡 Tip: Only upgrade when necessary. Monitor your server's RAM usage over time to determine if crashes are consistent or just occasional spikes.

Corrupted Autosave Preventing Startup

In rare cases, a corrupted autosave can prevent your server from starting. This can happen if the server runs out of RAM during a save, or if a game bug causes the save to corrupt.

Create a Backup

Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and go to Backups to create a backup of your server before making any changes.

Open Files

In the sidebar, go to Files.

Navigate to the Save Folder

Browse to:

.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/server

Delete the Corrupted Save

Find and delete the most recent autosave file. Check the Last Modified timestamps to identify it. An unusually small file size compared to other saves can also indicate a failed autosave.

Start Your Server

Start your server. If it still won't start, delete the next most recent autosave and try again.

Tier 0 Has Been Skipped

Tier 0 (Onboarding) is automatically unlocked on dedicated servers and cannot be played through, even if you upload a save that was still in Tier 0. This is by design, as the onboarding tutorial is intended for single-player or local multiplayer.

Workaround: If you want to experience the onboarding with friends, play through Tier 0 in local multiplayer first. Once you've completed it, upload the save to your dedicated server using the Upload Save guide.

"Server will restart in 60 minutes"

Satisfactory has a built-in automatic restart feature to maintain server stability. By default, the server restarts every 24 hours at 00:00 UTC.

To change or disable this:

  • Open Satisfactory and go to Server Manager from the main menu
  • Select your server and open Server Settings
  • Under Gameplay, adjust the Server Restart Interval slider

💡 Tip: Setting the restart interval to 0 disables automatic restarts entirely. However, periodic restarts are generally recommended to keep your server running smoothly.
