How to Add Admins on Your Valheim Server
Learn how to add admins, enable the in-game console, and use admin commands on your Valheim dedicated server.
Admin access in Valheim is controlled through a file called adminlist.txt. Once you've added your SteamID to this file and enabled the in-game console, you can use commands to manage players, skip time, and more.
Adding Yourself as Admin
Open the XGamingServer panel
Access the XGamingServer panel and select your Valheim server.
Navigate to the admin list
In the sidebar, go to Files. Open the .config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/ folder and find the file named adminlist.txt.
Enabling the In-Game Console
The Valheim console is disabled by default. You need to enable it through Steam launch options before you can use any admin commands.
Open Steam
Open your Steam client and go to your Library.
Open Valheim properties
Right-click Valheim in your library and select Properties.
Add the console launch option
In the Launch Options field, type -console.
Launch the game
Close the properties window and start Valheim.
Using Admin Commands
Connect to your server
Join your Valheim server as usual.
Open the console
Press F5 to open the in-game console.
Enable dev commands
Type devcommands and press Enter. You should see devcommands = true in the console output.
You're now ready to use admin commands.
Multiplayer Command List
These commands are available to admins on multiplayer servers. Commands like god, heal, and freefly only work in singleplayer.

skiptime [seconds] | Skips ahead by the specified seconds |
sleep | Skips to the next morning |
unban [SteamID] | Unbans a player |
