How to Find Your World Seed in Valheim
Learn how to retrieve your Valheim world seed using console commands to explore your map or recreate your world.
World seeds in Valheim determine the layout of your entire map — biome placement, boss locations, and terrain generation. You can use your seed to explore your map on external tools like Valheim World Generator or create a copy of your world in singleplayer.
Enabling the Console
The Valheim console is disabled by default. You need to enable it through Steam before you can retrieve your seed.
Open Steam
Open your Steam client and go to your Library.
Open Valheim properties
Right-click Valheim in your library and select Properties.
Add the console launch option
In the Launch Options field, type -console.
Launch Valheim
Close the properties window and start your game.
