How to Enable Crossplay on Your Valheim Server
Learn how to enable crossplay on your Valheim server to allow Xbox, Game Pass, and Epic Games players to join.
Enabling crossplay allows players on Xbox, Microsoft Game Pass, and Epic Games to join your Valheim server alongside Steam players. All crossplay connections are routed through Microsoft's PlayFab relay servers.
⚠️ Warning: Enabling crossplay routes all traffic through Microsoft's relay servers, which increases latency for all players. Additionally, disabling crossplay after it has been enabled can make your server temporarily inaccessible. If this happens, contact XGamingServer support on Discord to resolve it.
Enabling Crossplay
Open the XGamingServer panel
Access the XGamingServer panel and select your Valheim server.
Go to Startup
In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Enable crossplay
Under the Advanced section, find and enable the Crossplay toggle.
Restart your server
Restart your server to apply the change.
What to Know About Crossplay

💡 Tip: Only enable crossplay if you actually need cross-platform connectivity. If everyone in your group plays on Steam, keeping crossplay disabled gives noticeably better connection stability and lower latency.
