Palworld 1.0: Everything New (72 New Pals, Mutations & Awakening)

Palworld 1.0 is here. Pocketpair released the full 1.0 launch on July 10, 2026 (via update 1.100.427), taking the game out of Early Access. It is the biggest update in Palworld’s history: 72 new Pals (47 brand-new plus 25 variants, bringing the roster to 287), two new regions — the floating Sunreach islands and the endgame World Tree — two new mechanics in Mutations and Awakening, the Wing Pack glider, a raised level cap of 80, and a full main storyline. It is a free update for everyone who owns the game. Here’s everything new, and what it means if you run a server.

When does Palworld 1.0 release?

Pocketpair confirmed the date with the 1.0 cinematic trailer: July 10, 2026. This is the full 1.0 launch, taking Palworld out of Early Access after roughly two and a half years. It arrives simultaneously on PC (Steam and the Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and lands on Game Pass on day one. Best of all, 1.0 is a free update for everyone who already owns the game — there’s no separate purchase.

The World Tree and new floating islands

The headline addition is the World Tree — the giant landmark that’s been visible behind a barrier since launch. In 1.0 it becomes a fully accessible region and the setting for the conclusion of the main story. Pocketpair’s John Buckley has stressed that “while the World Tree will mark the conclusion of this particular journey, it’s by no means the end of Palworld,” so this ends the current story arc rather than the game.

Alongside it are new floating-island locations that Pocketpair describes as “perfect for traversing with your flying mounts,” with a massive serpent Pal waiting in the clouds. Exact map-size figures haven’t been given officially, but this is clearly the biggest area expansion Palworld has had. We go deeper in our Palworld 1.0 World Tree & new region guide.

The Wing Pack: flight becomes gear

To reach those skies, 1.0 adds the Wing Pack — “soar through the skies with the new Wing Pack,” as Pocketpair put it. Crucially it’s player equipment, shown alongside new weapons and armor rather than as a Pal mount, so it opens up vertical exploration without tying up a flying Pal. It’s one of the few 1.0 features Pocketpair has confirmed by name.

Offshore bases, reworked bosses and new Pals

Building gets a big expansion in 1.0. Pocketpair has shown offshore base building — the ability to build out on the water — along with new structures, furniture and building parts. Endgame systems are reworked too: Tower bosses are described as more dynamic and engaging, and the game’s Wildlife Sanctuaries are getting an overhaul. Add story-driven missions, new weapons, armor and gear, and a Pal that transforms into a two-handed sword mid-combat, and even familiar content will feel different on launch day — with more new Pals than any previous update.

Mutations, Awakening and the new Pals

1.0 adds two brand-new ways to strengthen your Pals, plus the largest roster expansion in the game’s history:

  • Mutations — breeding now has a low chance to produce a Pal stronger than the normal result. Pals hatched from mutated eggs have higher stats and a unique passive skill, making them the new target for competitive breeders. Plan combos with our Palworld breeding calculator and breeding combos tool.
  • Awakening — a new system that strengthens your Pals even further. Gather Radiant Gems hidden in the depths of the World Tree and spend them on your favourite Pals to push them past their normal limits.
  • 72 new Pals — 47 brand-new Pals plus 25 variants join in 1.0, bringing the total roster to 287. They inhabit the new Sunreach sky islands and World Tree, alongside new Ancient Ruins and Watchtower fast-travel points across the map.

What 1.0 means for server owners

The most important thing for server owners: your saves carry over. Pocketpair has confirmed you can continue existing worlds — there’s no forced wipe — though they recommend starting a fresh character to experience all the reworked progression, and a Global Palbox lets you move tamed Pals between old and new worlds. Either way, back up your world before you update. Our guide to updating your Palworld server to 1.0 walks through the backup and SteamCMD steps.

A bigger world, floating sky islands and offshore bases mean larger save files and more concurrent activity, so CPU clock speed and fast NVMe storage matter more than ever. Note that the widely-rumoured server clustering feature did not ship in 1.0 — it is not in the patch notes — so a single well-specced dedicated server is still the way to run a large community. Our server clustering guide covers what did and didn’t make the launch.

If you want to be ready from the start, Palworld server hosting from XGamingServer runs on high-clock AMD Ryzen 9 7950X hardware with NVMe storage and will be updated for 1.0 on launch day.

Frequently asked questions

When is the Palworld 1.0 release date?

Palworld 1.0 releases on July 10, 2026, confirmed by Pocketpair with the 1.0 cinematic trailer. It marks the game’s full launch out of Early Access.

What’s new in Palworld 1.0?

1.0 adds 72 new Pals (roster now 287), two new regions (the Sunreach sky islands and the World Tree endgame), the Mutations breeding mechanic and the Awakening system (powered by Radiant Gems), the Wing Pack glider, a raised level cap of 80, a full main storyline with new missions, offshore base building, reworked Tower bosses and a Wildlife Sanctuary overhaul, plus Watchtower fast-travel points. It is the biggest update in the game’s history at roughly 27 pages of patch notes.

Is Palworld 1.0 a free update?

Yes. Pocketpair has confirmed 1.0 is a free update for everyone who already owns Palworld across Steam, the Microsoft Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox — there’s no separate charge for the 1.0 content.

Will my Palworld save carry over to 1.0?

Yes — Pocketpair has confirmed existing saves carry over with no forced wipe. They recommend starting a fresh character to get the best of the reworked progression, and a Global Palbox lets you move tamed Pals between your old and new worlds. Back up your save before updating either way.

Does Palworld 1.0 have server clustering?

No. Despite pre-launch rumours, server clustering did not ship in Palworld 1.0 — it is not in the patch notes. A single dedicated server still hosts one world, so pick a plan with a fast CPU and NVMe storage to handle the bigger 1.0 map. See our server clustering guide for the full picture.

Will I need a new server for Palworld 1.0?

No — existing dedicated servers will update to 1.0 via the usual SteamCMD update. Because the world is larger and the endgame is overhauled, a higher-clock CPU and fast NVMe storage will give the smoothest experience. Back up your world before updating.
