Dungeons are where Conan Exiles stops being a base-building sim and turns into a proper survival RPG. Tucked across the Exiled Lands, each one hides a boss, a stack of legendary loot, and the steles that teach the recipes you cannot learn anywhere else. This guide walks through the five most-searched dungeons, the bosses that guard them, and exactly what you walk away with. If you run a community server, it is worth knowing these inside out, because dungeon farming is one of the biggest reasons players keep logging back in.
The Dregs: the beginner’s dungeon
The Dregs are the flooded sewers beneath the Unnamed City, and they are the first dungeon most players clear for the Dungeon Delver journey. It is short, mostly linear, and forgiving compared to what comes later. The boss waiting at the bottom is the Abysmal Remnant, a giant slug-serpent that keeps half its body submerged in the central pool. Stay mobile, hit it when it surfaces, and bring a follower to soak aggro.
The mystic stone by the first stairway teaches the Dredger knowledge. The boss room steles unlock Herpetology, Epic Reptile Leather, and the Abysmal weapon set (sword, daggers, and arrow). You will also harvest Abysmal Flesh, Eye, and Fang from enemies, plus the occasional Staff of the Triumvirate drop.
The Wine Cellar: stealth and Khari Steel
The Wine Cellar is entered through a door on the back of the tavern in Sepermeru’s Waterside district, in the Savanna on the west side of the desert. The interior is a ruined Khari city full of undead skeletons, wraiths, and treasure hunters, with a stealth-and-search theme built around finding Khari Steel. That Khari Steel is the gating material for the dungeon’s advanced weapon and armor recipes, so the cellar is as much a farming run as a boss fight.
Relic chests and ground containers here are some of the best in the game, with a chance at Iron Bars, Steel Bars, Golem parts for sorcery builds, and occasionally Star Metal Ore. If you are still chasing late-game alloys, pair this run with our star metal and obsidian farming guide.
The Black Keep: Silent Legion armor and Telith’s swords
The Black Keep sits in the Frozen North at the end of the Bridge of the Betrayer, near the Ruins of Xullan. This is a genuine step up in difficulty, both from the dungeon’s defenders and from the brutal cold outside, so pack warm gear before you even reach the door. The end boss is the Kinscourge, a slow but heavy-hitting giant best handled with ranged weapons while a follower holds its attention. It is notably susceptible to acid.
Interacting with the steles in the boss room teaches two standout knowledges. Pride of the Silent Legion lets you craft the iconic skeletal heavy armor seen on the dungeon’s defenders, and the Kinscourge Weapons knowledge unlocks Telith’s Lament and Telith’s Sorrow, a one-handed and two-handed sword pair with a crippling effect. Harvesting the boss yields the Heart of the Kinscourge and Tears of Two Races used in those sword recipes. New to the recipe system? Our feats and knowledge guide explains how steles and journeys feed your feat tree.
Warmaker’s Sanctuary: the endgame gauntlet
Warmaker’s Sanctuary is the toughest of the Exiled Lands dungeons and is built as a multi-room gauntlet rather than a straight crawl. The final fight is the Champion of the Warmaker, a massive armored boss that punishes anyone who ignores its sweeping attacks. Defeating it drops a stack of Armor Scraps and has a chance at the legendary weapons Destroyer or Carnage. The side rooms each hide a chest with high-end treasure and a few more Armor Scraps.
The real prize is the steles. The green stele teaches Warmaker Weapons and Grandmaster Weaponsmith, while the red stele teaches Godbreaker Armor and Grandmaster Armorsmith. Those grandmaster knowledges are central to top-tier crafting, which makes this dungeon a near-mandatory endgame stop. For the broader boss roster you will meet on the way, see our Conan Exiles bosses guide.
Midnight Grove: the path to Jhebbal Sag
Midnight Grove is unusual: you do not walk in, you drink your way in. The dungeon is entered by consuming a Potion of Midnight, a recipe learned from (or bought for Feral Flesh from) the Child of Jhebbal Sag. The potion teleports you inside and carries a short durability timer, so brew it fresh before you commit. The grove itself is a labyrinth of corridors, each ending in one of four bosses, with shortcuts unlocking as you clear the first three.
The final boss is the Werewolf Impisi. Consuming its Flesh of Remembrance teaches Bower of Jhebbal Sag. There are no grandmaster-tier crafting unlocks here, but the grove is a strong source of the Mushroom Amanita and loot-heavy chests, making it a favorite resource run for alchemists. If you are building potions, our alchemy and potions guide covers the ingredients you will gather here.

How to prepare for any dungeon
- Bring a leveled follower to tank bosses while you deal ranged or flanking damage.
- Pack temperature gear for the Black Keep north and cooling food for the volcano routes.
- Carry plenty of food, bandages, and an emergency potion stack for the longer crawls.
- Clear inventory space before the boss room so you can grab every Armor Scrap and recipe drop.
- On a private server, consider tuning loot and enemy difficulty so groups and solos both get a fair run.
