There are 12 jobs Pals can perform at your base:
- Kindling — powers furnaces and cooks food
- Watering — waters crops and runs water-powered stations
- Planting — sows seeds in plantations
- Generating Electricity — powers electric machines
- Handiwork — crafts at workbenches and assembly lines
- Gathering — harvests berries and ranch products
- Lumbering — chops trees for wood
- Mining — breaks ore, stone and coal nodes
- Medicine Production — crafts medicine and potions
- Cooling — refrigerates and keeps food fresh
- Transporting — moves items into storage
- Farming — ranch production like eggs, milk and wool
Best Pals for each job
Handiwork — Anubis
Anubis is the best Handiwork Pal in the game with Level 4 Handiwork and lightning-fast crafting speed — and it brings Level 3 Mining on top. It’s the best single base worker you can get early (via breeding), which is why almost every guide recommends it first. Selyne and Splatterina are excellent nocturnal Level 4 Handiwork alternatives; Splatterina barely eats, making it superb for night shifts.
Mining — Blazamut & Digtoise
For the endgame, Blazamut is the best miner with Level 4 Mining, demolishing ore nodes fast. Earlier on, Digtoise is the community favourite — it spins like a drill to clear ore and stone quickly, and it’s far easier to obtain. Put either on a mining-pit base and you’ll never be short of ingots.
Kindling — Jormuntide Ignis
Jormuntide Ignis carries Level 4 Kindling, making it the top pick for powering furnaces — and it doubles as a strong combat Pal, so it earns its base slot twice over.
Generating Electricity — Orserk
Orserk offers Level 4 Electricity generation, the best in the game for keeping electric production lines and refrigerators running. Grizzbolt is a solid earlier alternative.
The rest of the jobs
- Watering: high-level water Pals keep large farms irrigated — useful alongside planters.
- Planting: grass-type Pals like Verdash and Petallia sow seeds efficiently.
- Lumbering: big bruisers like Warsect and Wumpo fell trees fast.
- Cooling: Ice Pals such as Frostallion keep your food stores fresh.
- Transporting: fast, light Pals like Lunaris haul items into storage quickly.
- Farming (ranch): Chikipi for eggs, Mozzarina for milk, Woolipop for wool, Beegarde for honey — the backbone of Cake production for breeding.
Base tips that multiply output
- Match work to layout. Build your base near an ore deposit for miners, or beside water for waterers — Pals work where the resource is.
