Alpha Pals are the big, over-sized field bosses scattered across Palworld — and they’re some of the best targets in the game. They drop Technology Points, Ancient Civilization Parts and Legendary schematics, and capturing one gives you a powerful high-stat Pal. This guide explains how Alpha bosses work and how to farm them.

What are Alpha bosses?
Alpha Pals are giant versions of normal Pals that spawn in fixed locations across the world, marked with a red icon on your map once you get close. They have far more HP than wild Pals, and crucially they respawn — so you never lose access to one, and you can farm the same boss again and again.
Why fight them?
- Technology Points for defeating them — a fast way to unlock the tech tree.
- A high-stat Pal if you capture instead of kill — Alphas come with boosted stats.
- Ancient Civilization Parts — a key endgame material (see our Ancient Parts guide).
- Legendary schematics — the best Field Alpha bosses drop them (the level 49 Alpha Blazamut drops the Legendary Assault Rifle).
How to beat an Alpha boss
- Match the level. Alphas hit hard — be at or above the boss’s level with upgraded gear.
- Bring the element counter. Exploit its weakness with the right Pal — check our type chart or the type checker tool.
- Use cover and dodge. Alphas have big telegraphed attacks; weave shots between them.
- Lower HP to capture. Want the high-stat Pal? Drop it to the red and throw your best spheres — see our catch rate guide.
The double-drop farming trick
Because Alphas respawn, build a farming loop — and squeeze two drops from each one: capture the boss (you get its drops), then butcher the captured boss with the Butcher Knife (a second drop roll). That roughly doubles your Ancient Parts and schematic chances per boss.
Don’t confuse them with Tower Bosses
