How to Add Admins in Arma Reforger
Learn how to set up admin access, use admin commands, manage bans, and use Game Master on your Arma Reforger dedicated server.
Admin access in Arma Reforger uses a password-based system. Once you've set an admin password and logged in, you can kick and ban players, restart the scenario, shut down the server, and access the Game Master editor for live scenario management.
Setting an Admin Password
Open the XGamingServer panel
Access the XGamingServer panel and stop your Arma Reforger server.
Open Arma Reforger Config
In the sidebar, go to Arma Reforger Config.
Set your admin password
On the Game tab, set your desired Admin Password.
Save and restart
Click Save Changes and restart your server.
📝 Note: The admin password is different from the server password. The admin password grants management access to logged-in players, while the server password controls who can join.
Logging In as Admin
Connect to your server
Connect to your Arma Reforger server.
Open chat
Open chat by pressing /.
Log in with your password
Type #login YourAdminPassword and press Enter.
You'll see a confirmation message when successfully logged in. Type #logout to log out of admin at any time.
Admin Permissions
Not all admin roles have the same permissions. Arma Reforger distinguishes between logged-in admins (who used #login) and voted-in admins (elected by other players). Here's what each role can do:

Voted admins have limited permissions — they can view player lists and roles but cannot kick, ban, restart, or shut down the server. Only password-authenticated admins have full control.

All admin commands are typed in the in-game chat (press / to open). Commands start with #.
Player Management

Ban Management
Bans use player IDs (obtained from #players) or identity IDs for offline bans.

Using the Game Master
After logging in as admin, you can access the Game Master editor — a powerful tool for managing live scenarios in real-time:
Open the pause menu
Press Esc while on the server.
Launch Game Master
Select Game Master from the sidebar.
The Game Master lets you:
- Spawn and manage AI units — Place enemies, friendlies, or vehicles anywhere on the map
- Edit objectives — Create, modify, or remove mission objectives in real-time
- Manage weather and time — Change time of day, weather conditions, and environmental settings
- Teleport and observe — Move around the map freely to observe the action
- Trigger events — Set up ambushes, reinforcements, or scripted moments during gameplay
💡 Tip: The Game Master interface can be overwhelming at first. Select the Academic Cap icon (Guided Tour) in the header to walk through a tutorial of all the available tools. Game Master is what makes Arma Reforger a great platform for milsim events — one person can control the entire battlefield while others play.
