How to Change Your Arma Reforger Server Name

The server name (hostname) is what players see when browsing for servers in the Arma Reforger multiplayer menu. A clear, descriptive name helps players find your server and sets expectations before they even join. The name appears in both the in-game server browser and third-party server list websites.

Your server name is the first thing players notice in the server browser. Arma Reforger's multiplayer menu organizes servers under Official, Community, and Favorites tabs — your XGamingServer instance appears under Community.

If players can't find your server in the browser:

• Make sure your server is running and has finished loading the scenario
• Check that your server isn't set to password-only — passworded servers still show in the browser but display a lock icon
• Players can also direct connect using your server's IP address if the browser isn't working

Server Naming Tips

A well-named server attracts the right players and helps your community grow:

• Include the game mode and map — Players filter by these, so Conflict - Everon is more useful than just My Server
• Add your region — Players look for low-ping servers, so [US East] or [EU] helps them choose
• Mention your community — If you have a clan or group, include the name for brand recognition
• Keep it readable — Avoid excessive symbols or ALL CAPS. Clean names look more professional in the browser

💡 Tip: Your server name is separate from the admin password and server password. Changing the name doesn't affect who can join or manage the server.
