How to Add Voice Chat to Your Minecraft Server
Learn how to install and configure Simple Voice Chat for proximity voice on your Minecraft server.
Simple Voice Chat adds proximity-based voice communication to Minecraft — players can talk to nearby players in-game without needing Discord or other external apps. This guide covers how to install and configure it on your server.
📝 Note: Simple Voice Chat must be installed on both your server and each player's local Minecraft client. Players without the mod can still play but won't hear or use voice chat.
Prerequisites
- Your server must be running a compatible mod loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge)
- Download the correct version of Simple Voice Chat for your server's mod loader and Minecraft version
- Install Simple Voice Chat on your local client using a launcher like CurseForge or Prism Launcher — see the official client installation guide
