How to Connect to Your Minecraft Server

Learn how to find your server IP address and connect to your Minecraft Java or Bedrock server.

Connecting to your Minecraft server is the first step to playing with friends. This guide covers how to find your server's IP address on the XGamingServer panel and connect using either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition.

Finding Your Server IP Address

Select your server

Choose your Minecraft server from the server list.

Copy your server IP address

Your server IP address is displayed in the sidebar — it looks like 123.456.78.90:25565.

💡 Tip: Click the IP address to copy it to your clipboard. The number after the colon (:) is the port — you'll need both parts to connect.

Connecting on Java Edition

Open Minecraft Java Edition

Launch Minecraft Java Edition on your computer.

Click Multiplayer

Click Multiplayer from the main menu.

Click Add Server

Click Add Server to add a new server entry.

Paste your server IP address

Paste your server IP address into the Server Address field.

Name your server

Give your server a name (optional) and click Done.

Join the server

Select your server from the list and click Join Server.

Connecting on Bedrock Edition

Open Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition on your device.

Navigate to Add Server

Go to PlayServersAdd Server.

Enter the server IP address

Enter your server's IP address (the numbers before the colon) in the Server Address field.

Enter the port number

Enter the port number (the numbers after the colon) in the Port field.

Save and join

Click Save and then select your server to join.

📝 Note: Bedrock Edition uses separate IP and port fields, while Java Edition combines them. Make sure you're entering each part in the correct field.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If you can't connect to your server:

  • Make sure your server is running — check the console on the XGamingServer panel
  • Double-check the IP address and port are entered correctly
  • If using mods, ensure your client has the same mods installed as the server
  • Try restarting both your game and your server
