How to Whitelist Players on Your Minecraft Server

Learn how to set up a whitelist to control who can join your Minecraft server.

A whitelist restricts your Minecraft server to only approved players. Once enabled, anyone not on the whitelist will be blocked from joining — perfect for keeping your server private or limited to friends.

Adding Players to the Whitelist

Open the server console

Log in to the XGamingServer panel and select your Minecraft server.

Add players

Type whitelist add Username for each player you want to allow.

Enabling the Whitelist

After adding players, enable and activate the whitelist:

Turn on the whitelist

In Console, type whitelist on.

Reload the whitelist

Type whitelist reload to apply changes immediately.

Restart your server

Restart your server to ensure everything is saved.

💡 Tip: You can check who's on the whitelist at any time by typing whitelist list in the console.

Removing Players from the Whitelist

To remove a player's access:

Open the console

Go to Console.

Remove the player

Type whitelist remove Username.

Reload the whitelist

Type whitelist reload to apply the change.

Disabling the Whitelist

If you want to open your server back up to everyone, type whitelist off in the console.

📝 Note: You can also enforce the whitelist by setting enforce-whitelist=true in your server.properties file. This will automatically kick any online players who aren't on the whitelist when you reload it. See our server configuration guide for more details.
