How to Change Maps on Your 7D2D Server
Learn how to change maps on your 7 Days To Die dedicated server, including Navezgane, random gen worlds, and pregen maps.
Want to explore new terrain on your 7 Days to Die server? Whether you want to switch to the handcrafted Navezgane map, generate a random world, or load a pregenerated map, this guide walks you through the process.

Changing the Map on Your 7D2D Server
Stop your server
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel, select your 7D2D server, and click Stop.
Open Startup settings
In the sidebar, click Startup.
Change the Game World setting
Under Map, edit the Game World option to one of the following values:
- Navezgane -- The default, hand-designed map. Great for players who want a consistent, curated experience.
- RWG -- Randomly generates a new world based on the
WorldGenSeedvalue. Each seed produces a unique map. - Custom Folder Name -- The name of a custom world folder you have uploaded to
.local/share/7DaysToDie/GeneratedWorlds. - Pregen Map Name -- One of the pregenerated maps listed below, also found in
Data/Worlds.

Start your server
Click Start to launch the server with the new map.
⚠️ Warning: Switching maps does not delete your old world data. If you switch back to the same map name later, your previous progress will still be there.
