How to Configure Your 7D2D Server
Learn how to configure your 7 Days to Die dedicated server settings including zombie speed, difficulty, max zombies, and more.
XGamingServer integrates 7 Days to Die settings directly into the game panel, so you can easily adjust zombie speed, max zombies, difficulty, loot abundance, and much more without manually editing config files.
Configuring Your 7 Days to Die Server
Open the panel
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and select your 7 Days to Die server.
Navigate to Startup
In the sidebar, click Startup.
Edit your settings
Browse through the available categories (Basic, Gameplay, Advanced, etc.) and adjust any settings you want to change. Common settings include:
- Difficulty -- Controls how tough zombies are (0 = Scavenger, 5 = Insane).
- Zombie Speed Day/Night -- Set zombie movement speed separately for day and night.
- Max Spawned Zombies -- The maximum number of zombies alive at once.
- Loot Abundance -- Multiplier for how much loot spawns (100 = default).
- Day Night Length -- How many real-time minutes make up a full in-game day (default 60).
- Blood Moon Frequency -- How often blood moon hordes occur (default every 7 days).

Restart your server
Go back to Dashboard and restart your server for the changes to take effect.
📝 Note: If you prefer to manually edit the
serverconfig.xmlfile, you can disable File Parser in Startup. This stops the panel from overwriting your manual changes. Only do this if you are comfortable editing config files directly, as incorrect settings can prevent your server from starting.
💡 Tip: Settings changed in the panel always override values in
serverconfig.xml. If a setting is not working as expected, make sure File Parser is enabled and check the panel value.
