How To Change Building Limits On Your Palworld Server
Learn how to modify building limits on your Palworld dedicated server. Control the maximum number of buildings per player and configure area restrictions.
Building limits control how many structures each player can place and where they can build. Adjusting these settings helps balance creative freedom with server performance. Too many buildings can cause lag, so setting reasonable limits keeps your server running smoothly.

How To Change Building Limits
Open the XGamingServer panel
Access the XGamingServer panel and stop your Palworld server.
Go to Startup
In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Configure building limits
Under the Bases & Guilds section, edit the following:
- MaxBuildingLimitNum - Maximum number of building pieces per player. Set to
0for unlimited. Default varies by server configuration. - BaseCampMaxNum - Maximum number of base camps allowed on the entire server.
Under the Advanced section:
- bBuildAreaLimit - Set to
Trueto prevent building near certain structures like fast travel points, orFalseto allow unrestricted placement.
💡 Tip: If your server experiences lag, try lowering
MaxBuildingLimitNum. A value of5000-10000gives players plenty of room to build while keeping performance stable.
⚠️ Warning: Setting
MaxBuildingLimitNumto0(unlimited) on a busy server can lead to significant performance issues as players build massive bases. Monitor server performance if you use this setting.
