Learn how to change dropped item limits on your Palworld dedicated server. Follow this guide to control the maximum dropped items on your server and how long they stay before despawning.
Palworld has two settings that control dropped items on the ground: DropItemMaxNum sets the maximum number of items that can exist on the ground at once, and DropItemAliveMaxHours controls how long items persist before despawning. Tuning these settings helps balance loot availability with server performance.

Access the XGamingServer panel and stop your Palworld server.

In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Edit the dropped item settings
Under the Gameplay section, find and adjust the following settings:
| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
DropItemMaxNum | Maximum number of items on the ground at once | 3000 |
DropItemAliveMaxHours | Hours before dropped items despawn | 1.0 |
Recommended values for DropItemMaxNum:
| Value | Use case |

1000 | Performance-focused, fewer ground items |
3000 | Default balance |
5000 | More items allowed, good for PvE servers |

⚠️ Warning: High values for
