How To Change The Pal Damage Multiplier On Your Palworld Server

Learn how to change Pal damage multiplier on your Palworld dedicated server. Follow this guide to adjust damage dealt by Pals and damage taken by Pals.

Palworld has two settings that control Pal combat damage: PalDamageRateAttack controls how much damage your Pals deal, and PalDamageRateDefense controls how much damage your Pals receive. Both default to 1.0. Adjusting these lets you make Pals stronger, weaker, or both.

Changing Pal Damage Multipliers

Open the XGamingServer panel

Access the XGamingServer panel and stop your Palworld server.

Go to Startup

In the sidebar, go to Startup.

Edit the Pal damage settings

Under the Pals section, find and adjust the following settings:

SettingDescriptionDefault
PalDamageRateAttackMultiplier for damage Pals deal to enemies1.0
PalDamageRateDefenseMultiplier for damage Pals receive from enemies1.0

How the values work:

  • Attack: Higher values = Pals deal more damage. 2.0 means double damage output.
  • Defense: Higher values = Pals take more damage. 0.5 means Pals take half damage. 2.0 means they take double.

Recommended combinations:

StyleAttackDefense
Tanky Pals1.00.5
Powerful Pals2.01.0
Glass cannons3.02.0
Default1.01.0
Weak Pals (challenge mode)0.51.5

Restart your server

Start your server from the Console page to apply the changes.

📝 Note: These settings only affect Pals, not players. For player damage settings, look for the player damage rate options in the Startup settings.

💡 Tip: If you want Pals to feel more impactful in combat without being invincible, try PalDamageRateAttack at 1.5 and keep PalDamageRateDefense at 1.0.
