How To Change The Pal Capture Rate On Your Palworld Server
Learn how to change the Pal capture rate on your Palworld dedicated server to increase your chances of successfully capturing Pals with Pal Spheres.
The PalCaptureRate setting controls the capture success rate multiplier when using Pal Spheres on your Palworld server. The default value is 1.0. Higher values make it easier to catch Pals, which is useful for casual play or servers focused on collection rather than combat.
Changing Pal Capture Rate
Open the XGamingServer panel
Access the XGamingServer panel and stop your Palworld server.
Go to Startup
In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Edit the PalCaptureRate setting
Under the Pals section, find PalCaptureRate and change the value. The default is 1.0 (normal capture rate).
Recommended values:
| Value | Effect |
|---|---|
0.5 | Harder to catch (hardcore) |
1.0 | Default capture rate |
1.5 | Slightly easier captures |
2.0 | Double capture rate (popular choice) |
5.0 | Very easy captures |
Restart your server
Start your server from the Console page to apply the changes.
💡 Tip: A value of
2.0makes capturing noticeably easier without removing the challenge entirely. For servers focused on breeding and collection, higher values reduce the grind of catching base Pals.
📝 Note: This multiplier affects the base capture chance calculation. Even at high values, some legendary or boss Pals may still be difficult to catch depending on their level and your Pal Sphere quality.
