Learn how to change the death penalty on your Palworld dedicated server. Configure what players lose when they die, from nothing to everything.
The death penalty setting controls what players drop when they die. By default, Palworld uses the harshest option where players lose all items and Pals. You can adjust this to create a more casual or more punishing experience depending on your server's style.

Under the Player section, find DeathPenalty and choose one of these options:
| Option | What happens on death |
|---|---|
| None | Players keep everything when they die |
| Item | Players drop all items but keep equipped gear |
| ItemAndEquipment | Players drop all items and equipped gear |
| All | Players drop all items, equipment, and Pals on their team |
